What is the difference and benefits of  digital, and high definition televisions?
Digital TVs (720p) have a higher quality picture than regular analog TVs(480i) and high definition TVs(1080i and 1080p) have 200% better picture quality.  Both types have upgraded video connections including component video(RGB) and now firewire (IEEE 1394) for better quality and greater adaptability.

What is the benefit of getting a DVD player over a VCR?
A DVD can provide superior video and sound quality over a video cassette.  They also provide additional options such as letterbox, subtitles, various languages, and can even be interactive.

What components do I need to build a home theatre system?
Most of our systems include: a digital or high definition TV, a DVD player, audio recevier, digital receiver(Cable or Satellite), and 8 to 12 surround sound speakers. Other possibilities include: game systems (Playstations, XBox, Gamecube, etc.), I pod and other audio equipment.

How many speakers do I need to make "surround sound" work?
As a minimum, 6 speakers are needed. However we recommend 8 for Dolby 5.1 and 8 - 12 for Dolby EX.

Where do I want to place my speakers for the best surround sound effects?
Placement is not as critical as it has been in the past.  In general, the center speaker should be above the TV, front left and right, with a subwoofer usually behind the seating.  In the back, left and right are a must and 1 or 2 center speakers are optional.  Also optional are side left and right speakers.

There is a large difference in the price range of speakers, what's the difference?
The higher priced speakers give you a greater range of tonal quality, sound frequency, power output, and the capability to more accurately reproduce the recording.

I am building a new home and I am  interested in having it pre-wired.  When do you need to start?
We would like to sit down with you and discuss it with you during or before the framing stage.
Our installation team will be onsite roughly about the time the electrician is about done.

Why should I use the more expensive wire?
The more expensive wire will produce better quality output and will provide you with a better sounding system.  The larger wire, is oxygen free to prevent tarnishing and big enough to carry the signals without loss of sound frequency or power.

When should I upgrade my equipment?
Upgrading your equipment is really up to you.  You should upgrade when your equipment no longer meets your needs or to take advantage of new technology.  The manufacturers commonly discontinue parts for models 5 to 7 years old.
